OSHAssociation UK – Nigeria Region Meets Sen. Rochas Okorocha on the Need to promote Health and Safety Culture in Nigeria

The former governor of Imo State Sen. Rochas Okorocha has described Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation) as the hope of Africa and the world at large for their prompt attitude in championing safety solutions in the nation Nigeria. Reacting to the forth coming World Safety Day 2021, Senator Okorocha lamented on the poor safety culture in the nation rising from absent of no safety standard and lack of safety compliance over the years, including no proactive committed safety body in checkmating, training and advocating safety as that of OSHAssociation.

 

While receiving OSHAssociation Nigeria Executives yesterday at his office in Abuja, he expressed readiness to join the move in actualizing a conscious safety advocacy in the nation stressing that no nation can survive without identifying with safety. He further called on both corporate and government organizations to adhere and always keep to safety rules. In continuing, the lawmaker further promised to join other prominent stakeholders to mark this world safety day with OSHAssociation Nigeria in Abuja.

In his response, Engr. Emmanuel Uwalaka, the Regional Administrator of OSHAssociation Nigeria thanked the lawmaker on behalf of the regional president, noting that OSHAssociation is a non-profit organisation piloting a mega projects with the support of international donors and private organisations as their corporate social responsibility, adding that the association is open for members and groups for partnership in actualizing the National Safety AdvocacyProject of the Association. In concluding, he added that some of the mega projects will be unveiled at the world safety day slated to hold in Abuja on the 28th of April 2021.
