OSHAssociation PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT ON TECHNICAL, VOCATIONAL, AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION

In a significant step towards fostering partnership and collaboration in the field of technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship education, the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation UK) Nigeria Region recently paid a courtesy visit to Mrs Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Education. The visit was aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and discuss strategies to ensure safety best practices in skills development and entrepreneurship education in Nigeria.

During the courtesy visit,fruitful discussions were held on the importance of forging partnerships between OSHAssociation and the Senior Special Assistant’s office to integrate occupational safety and health practices into the curriculum and training programs of technical and vocational institutions to ensure the well-being of students and improve the overall quality of education

Mrs Abiola Arogundade Showed her appreciation for the visit, stating, “I am pleased to welcome OSHAssociation and explore avenues for collaboration. Technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship education are vital for the development of skilled professionals and entrepreneurs. By partnering with OSHAssociation, we can ensure that our students receive comprehensive training that includes occupational safety and health practices, enabling them to excel in their chosen fields.”

The Country Regional Administrator, Dr. Aliyu Mohammed Ibrahim-PhD,FOSHA, expressed his commitment to promoting occupational safety and health practices across various industries. He emphasised the importance of integrating safety modules into technical and vocational training programs, as well as fostering entrepreneurship skills among students. He also highlighted the Association’s expertise in providing training and support in occupational safety, which could greatly benefit students and educators.

The courtesy visit concluded with a mutual agreement to establish a formal partnership between OSHAssociation and the Senior Special Assistant’s office. Both parties expressed their commitment to working together. Potential areas of collaboration discussed during the visit included the development of specialized training programs, the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and the organisation of workshops and seminars to raise awareness and build capacity among students, educators, and entrepreneurs.

The courtesy visit by OSHAssociation to Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Education, signals a significant step towards fostering partnership and collaboration in the areas of occupational safety in skills development and entrepreneurship education.
