OSHAssociation Conducts Safety Training and Certification for Staff of APDC; Charged them on Professionalism

In a bid to enhance workplace safety and promote a culture of health and environmental consciousness, the Abuja Property Development Company (APDC) recently collaborated with the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation) to conduct professional international training and certification programme for its staff.

The OSHAssociation, a renowned global organisation dedicated to promoting occupational safety, health management, and environmental sustainability, conducted a comprehensive 2-day training programme tailored to equip the APDC’s employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a safe and healthy working environment.

The training sessions covered a wide range of topics related to health, safety, and environment (HSE), including risk assessment and management, emergency response planning, ergonomics, fire safety, environmental sustainability and occupational health. The participants gained valuable insights into international best practices, enabling them to implement effective safety measures and establish a culture of safety within the organisation.

There were theoretical presentations, hands-on exercises, case studies, group discussions, and simulations, allowing participants to apply their learning to real-world scenarios, thereby facilitating effective knowledge transfer and skill development. This experiential learning approach ensured that APDC’s staff effectively implemented the acquired knowledge in their day-to-day operations.

Following the successful completion of the training programme, participants expressed their gratitude to the OSHAssociation for the training given to them and promised to work towards promoting safety best practices within their workplace environment and beyond. The decision by APDC to equip its employees shows its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

With the high rate of death and injuries associated with work spaces, it is therefore paramount that industries and organisations invest in professional training and certification programmes for their staff in order to create sustainable work environments, and OSHAssociation remain on the move to champion the cause of health, safety, and environmental awareness and advocacy.
