Engr (Dr) Emmanuel Uwalaka Emerges the Executive Director for OSHAssociation Africa & Middle East Region

Following the remarkable achievement of Engr (Dr) Emmanuel Uwalaka (aka) the Safety Minister, the immediate past Nigeria Regional Administrator of the Occupational Safety and Health Association in Nigeria, he is now officially appointed the Executive Director for the Africa & Middle East Region. This prestigious position came as a result of his tireless passion and commitment to promoting occupational safety and health awareness and measures to all corners of Africa and beyond.

Engr (Dr) Emmanuel Uwalaka is known as a leader who has spearheaded numerous initiatives and implemented crucial safety measures that have had a profound effect on Africa’s occupational safety and health landscape in Nigeria especially.

His unwavering commitment to enhancing workplace safety standards and promoting best practices has earned him widespread recognition and respect in the field of occupational safety and health in Africa and Europe at large.

Under his guidance, the OSHAssociation Nigeria region witnessed substantial growth, progress, recognition and massive impacts in the region. He championed the development and implementation of comprehensive training programmes targeting various industries across the country and beyond; which have equipped thousands of professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards within their workplaces and environment.

Understanding the concept of occupational safety and health implementation in the Western world, he deployed the same intelligence and wisdom in playing a pivotal role in fostering collaborations between the OSHAssociation and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government; including the key stakeholders in the private sectors.

Through these collaborations and partnerships, the Federal Government has seen strong reasons to integrate Occupational Safety and Health Measures in the public sector and adopted robust safety policies and regulations, ensuring the protection and well-being of Nigerian workers.

His achievements and impacts as the regional administrator have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s occupational safety and health landscape.

His dedication to creating a safe and secure working environment has not only safeguarded the lives and well-being of countless Nigerian workers but has also contributed to the overall economic growth and development of the nation and beyond.
