Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, FOSHA, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Bags OSHAssociation UK Fellowship; Set to Improve Workplace Safety

Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, FOSHA, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, was awarded the Fellowship of the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation UK) Nigeria Region. This prestigious recognition came as a result of her extensive expertise in promoting workplace safety and health practices.

This recognition took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Executive Conference Hall at the Head of Service Building. Present at the event were permanent secretaries: Raymond Omachi Omenka, Common Service Office (CSO), and Dr. Bako Deborah Odoh, Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO), Directors; Dr. Comfort Adeosun FOSHA, Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare; and Mr. Adebayo Odejinmi, Deputy Drectors; Engr. Bello M. Kwalli MOSHA, Idris Aminu Mohammad, and Nwachukwu DC., Distinguished Fellows of OSHAssociation and staff of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The event started with a welcome address given by Dr. Comfort Adeosun FOSHA, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, appreciating everyone for their presence to celebrate this momentous occasion.

HRH (DR.) AMB Olusegun Aderemi, the Regional President of OSHAssociation Nigeria Region, ably represented by Dr. Taiwo Adedoja FOSHA, gave a special speech applauding Dr. Yemi-Esan’s achievements and her commitment to workplace safety.

OSHAssociation Team, led by the representative of the regional president, did the investiture process in conjunction with the investiture speech, decoration, and presentation of the certificate/plaque to Dr. FolasadeYemi-Esan (CFR, FOSHA).

Dr. Yemi-Esan expressed her gratitude to OSHAssociation Nigeria Region for the recognition. “I am honoured to receive this fellowship award,” she said. “Workplace safety and health are critical components of ensuring the well-being of civil servants and improving the overall efficiency of the public sector, she added.

During her tenure, she has been instrumental in implementing various initiatives aimed at improving the work environment for civil servants. These include the development of comprehensive safety guidelines, the establishment of safety committees, and the provision of training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of government employees.

At the close of the event, Deputy Director Engr. Bello M. Kwalli gave the vote of thanks; this was followed by the taking of group photographs to commemorate the occasion.

With this latest achievement, Dr. Yemi-Esan is poised to drive a new era of safety best practices in the public sector, ensuring that the well-being of government employees remains a top priority.
